Trigger Finger.

I had you for myself, like a secret kept from the world.
We were lovers convinced it was forever.
With one unfortunate kiss,
you put the gun to my head and pulled the trigger.
The bullet in my heart.
Shattering the foundations of everything we knew.

Love wasted on a path destined for disaster.
My affections lost, so elegantly bound to your heart.
I’ve become secondary, the ashes of your yesterday.
We could have been the love this century never forgets.
